Seriously… what an ugly day. It was chilly, raining and a whole lot going on. But that’s one of the reasons I love living in the city.
I was invited to an event at NikeTown to check out some of their new gear which was pretty cool. They opened the store early and had a short presentation about the “Lunar” line of shoes and also showed off the collection of Shamrock Shuffle apparel. After that they loaded the group up on buses and took the S.S. Nike out to see the River get dyed green.
Later on I headed to the Northside to pick up my race packet for tomorrow’s Leprechaun Leap 5k. Apparently I accidentally registered for the Fun Run, which means I won’t get an official time. Bummer.
While I was out and about I couldn’t help but notice how many people we out in the rain running the lake path. It really goes to show how motivated people in Chicago are. I’m all for running on scheduled training days, and it made me feel pretty good to see everyone out!
Tomorrow is supposed to be just as ugly as today, so the Leprechaun Leap should be nice and muddy! Pictures and video to follow.
Good luck tomorrow dude!
