Man did I take it easy this weekend. It’s been a stressful couple of months, between work & our new show, as well as trying to get my training back on track… its been hectic.

Yesterday I spent the day around the house. I didn’t run, but we did take a series of 2 mile walks which was really nice. I spent part of the day looking for more races to run in Chicago. Having races to look forward too really help keep me on track with my running.
I’m still desperately trying to get entry into the Rock N’ Roll 1/2 Marathon on Aug 1st. I missed the registration because I wasn’t sure if I’d be ready to do it after my doctor ordered layoff. Unfortunately registration has closed. But I’m working on it & plan on running the event!!
I did sign up for the Cancer is Colorblind 5k on August 7th. It’s only a 5K , but its for a good cause. My goal is to raise over $250.00 by August 6th. If you’d like to make a donation please do!
I’m also looking for a September 1/2 Marathon, so if you have a suggestion please let me know.
Obviously my big October run is the Marathon. I’m really excited about it. After that I have the Pumpkins in the Park 5k on 10/16 and my favorite run of the year the Trick or Treat Trot 10k on 10/31
I’m also going to throw a November race in the mix.
Lastly, even though I’ve been in a training slump. I’m (slightly) proud to say that I’ve continued to maintain my goal of being down 20lbs and staying under 200lbs!! I’m no CubicleDad, but I’m working on it!
Ok I’m off to work. Please make a donation to Cancer Is Colorblind if you can!
