Aaahhhggg! I’m struggling to stay focused on running this past week. As the marathon gets closer and training starts tapering off, I feel like my work load everywhere else is ramping up.
I’m in the process of moving, the amount of projects I have at work are growing by the minute and because of it all focusing on my training has taken a back seat. I can feel it in my body too. I’m more tired lately, achey and just worn down. This doesn’t mean I’m not excited for the marathon, cause I’m VERY excited.
When I walk to work and look at the banners I can’t help but think about how much work we’ve all put in just for this one day. Even when I was on the train the other day and passed the 10-10-10 mural I felt excited, plus Cubicledad is up there which is REALLY cool!
But again, lately I just can’t stay focused on training. I was sent this video of Ironman World Champ Chris McCormick talking about how he stayed focused at Kona. And I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that he has to put in a lot more time training that I could even imagine. So watch and enjoy. Hopefully it will help anyone who finds themselves in the same situation that I’m in.
