It’s late… 11:15 Saturday night. The Chicago Marathon is just hours away. I was hoping to be asleep by now, but it didn’t happen.
It was a busy day… We started at the Expo for packet pick up around 9:30 and left at 11:30. We did lunch downtown and then home. Adam and I did a light 2 miles just to shake things out and then I was off to a wedding.
My goal today was rest and hydrating. I got a call from Dave Wallach (Pace of Chicago) checking in on me to make sure I had my act together, and to let me know to give him a call if I needed anything.
Thanks Dave!
At this point I feel good. I’ve trained, I’ve mentally gone over my race plan and I know what I need to do. I’m fully stocked on Clif SHOTs and Shot Bloks, My CamelBak is filled and in the fridge.
So this is it, I’m ready.
Just for the record I have a stretch goal of 5 hours and a more realistic goal of 5:40.
To everyone running tomorrow good luck and have fun, you’ve earned it!
