To celebrate my first half marathon of the year, I’m giving away one FREE entry to the Chicago 1/2 Marathon!!!

The 15th Running of the Chicago Half Marathon & 5K takes place on Sunday, September 11, 2011. Last year this race sold out FAST.  The Chicago Half is the fifth largest half marathon in the U.S. and the 21st largest road race in the country. The start and finish line of the Half Marathon and 5K will be in Jackson Park, just south of the Museum of Science and Industry at the intersection of Hayes & Richards. Jackson Park, once the site of the 1893 World Columbian Exposition , is over 600 acres and provides recreational opportunities for athletes, nature lovers and beach goers alike.

The Chicago Half Marathon gives you the chance to run on Lake Shore Drive! This scenic 13.1 mile course will start and finish in Jackson Park and showcase the south lakefront and the Jackson Park Golf Course. The Lake Shore Drive stretch offers beautiful views of the great Chicago Skyline.

WHAT:           The 15th Annual Chicago Half Marathon & Karhu 5K will host 20,000 runners on Sunday, September 11, 2011. Runners will enjoy a beautiful 13.1 mile course along scenic Lake Shore Drive with great views of the Chicago skyline, starting and finishing in Jackson Park.

The Chicago Half is the fifth largest half marathon in the U.S. and the 21st largest road race in the country. Last year’s 14th Annual Chicago Half Marathon & 5K sold out with more than 20,000 participants.

Participants will receive a custom finisher’s medal and technical t-shirt, along with access to the post-race party in Jackson Park.

  1. Hello! I hope I am not too late to enter. I really, really want to run this race (all the way from TEXAS), but cannot afford the entry fee. I will be in Chicago this weekend for a wedding. The goal I set out for 2011, was to run my first half marathon. If I get into this race, it will be my THIRD for this year. Love, Luck, and Lollipops,

  2. I was supposed to do this same race 3 years ago. My grandmother had a massive stroke and I dropped out to spend my training time w/ her. If the contest is still going, I would love to win it. Thanks!
