The only way this mornings run cod have felt worse is if I got injured! … Let me clarify. I wasn’t in pain, there were no aches, I just wasn’t into it. It was my first run in my new neighborhood and it just didn’t feel right.
I got started about 45mins later than I had planned, but last night was the best sleep I’ve had in the past couple of weeks so I didn’t mind the late start. I had 5 miles planned and started out nice and easy. If you didn’t notice it was pretty cold so the slow warm up did me good.
The main problem with today’s run was traffic. I’m used to the lake path where the only thing i need to worry about is getting hit by a bike. Now I live between 3 major roads, that I have to cross and wait and wait and wait for traffic. It was pretty annoying. Luckily I only have 2 short runs left, cause I have no idea how I would get a decent long run in.
So between traffic and waking up late I only had time for 3 of my 5 miles. So it looks like I’ve got to get in 2 after work.
Tomorrow is 2 miles and 3 miles on Thursday, after that I rest and hydrate on Friday/Saturday then it’s marathon time!
